Surfing the Internet is usually fun, dangerous, or a tremendous waste of time, depending on who you are asking. All of the these are true, but what is also true is that the Internet is a necessity for today’s computer users. Everyday we surf the the internet for news, gossips, games, educational purposes, entertainment etc. But do you know which one of the websites your browsing is hot and not. Here are the list of the the top 10 most viewed website to date according to Alexa Internet,Inc.

10.) QQ.com – Tencent QQ, generally referred to as QQ, is the most popular free instant messaging computer program in Mainland China, and currently has over 300 million users. It was founded in Shenzhen (深圳市), China, in 11 November 1998. Tencent’s instant messaging service platform “QQ” was formally launched in February 1999.

9.) MSN.com – (originally The Microsoft Network) is a collection of Internet sites and services provided byMicrosoft. The Microsoft Network debuted as an online service and Internet service provider on August 24, 1995. Microsoft used the MSN brand name to promote numerous popular web-based services in the late 1990s, most notably Hotmail and Messenger, before reorganizing many of them in 2005 under another brand name, Windows Live.

8.) Baidu, Inc. – simply known as Baidu and incorporated on January 18, 2000, is a Chinese search engine for websites, audio files, and images. Baidu offers 57 search and community services including Baidu Baike, an online collaboratively-built encyclopedia, and a searchable keyword-based discussion forum.

The company was founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin while the two were attending Stanford University as Ph.D. candidates.

Popular social network in the Philippines Friendster is at 146 and Plurk at 1072.
